ToastMasters

I joined Toastmasters in November of last year. It was a quick decision, but it has made a big difference in my life.

Toastmasters is an International organization that teaches people public speaking skills and helps give people opportunities to become professional speakers. It’s been fun and something I’ve really enjoyed.

Today, I got to give a speech about an important concept that I learned during my marriage. It’s one of those things I feel like I’m supposed to share and that I’m even writing about in my book. I try to take every opportunity to share those things, and Toastmasters has given me some great opportunities to speak and to prepare.

Today I met someone that helps people write their memoirs and their stories! She just “happened” to be checking out our Toastmasters Club for the first time, and mentioned what she did. I talked to her afterwards. She could hardly believe that I’ve been trying to write my memoir now for almost 10 years! (or more!) She was excited to help me, and I have hope that I might actually finish the book I’ve been working on for so long.

Today I also signed a document that will also help in the process. I’ll hopefully be able to write more about that soon!

All I can say is that God is in the details of our lives! It’s nice when you can see Him giving hints and opportunities to see His hand. I’ve had a couple rough days, feeling sorry for myself, and wishing things could be different, but then I have days like today, that give me hope, that things will be okay. I have no idea how that will happen, but I trust God that I’m still on the right path.

I haven’t been perfect at writing in this blog, but I’m going to try to do better (again). It would help if anyone reading would add a comment or two! Is anyone there reading?
