Today I went over to a friend’s house to practice a song I am singing for the Young Women’s activity tonight. I’ve been released from my calling in Young Women as the music leader, but I’ve still had a lot of opportunities to be there and help out. I love it. I already miss seeing the girls every Sunday.
Anyway, while I was gone, my kids told me that my neighbor had stopped by. I was impressed that she hadn’t called. We are only two doors away, but it seems like such an effort to walk over sometimes. I decided I would have to walk back to her house to find out why she’d come. I also thought it was a good idea to walk outside because if I tried to call undoubtably the kids would all need me right then, and I wouldn’t be able to enjoy any conversation with her at all.
It was a wonderful opportunity. From the minute I walked outside, I noticed the beautiful sky and weather. It’s finally spring! It was warm and beautiful. Flowers are growing everywhere, and I just loved it! I enjoyed my visit with my neighbor. I wish I had more opportunities to talk with people. I love to do that too. I really do spend most of my time being a homebody, but I love to get out when it’s warm and beautiful.
Yesterday I took my kids to eat lunch at the park. It was still a little cold, but it was fun to see my one year old playing outside really for the first time. I need to remember to do this more. Especially while the weather is good.
I love Spring!
