Wow! How time flies! I can hardly believe how long it’s been, but if you’ll forgive me, I’ll give you a long overdue update!
My baby has turned a year old now, and I am finally starting to feel like myself again! My six kids have been quite a handful, and it’s taken me more time than I expected to adjust. I’m loving being a mom though, and I wouldn’t trade the opportunity for anything. I did find time to finish the sheetmusic for my Little Miracles sheet music book. It is now available on my website. It took me awhile because I wanted to get the music just right, and unfortunately, there were many errors that I found in the copies that I have posted on the website. I am happy to say that the songs in this spiral-bound book have all been critically notated with carefully placed slurs and dynamics to help aid students and anyone else that wants to play my music. The song “Peace Within” is also notated more accurately, with a third hand playing the obligatto, and there are 4 new songs included in the book that are also not on my website. It was a fun project, and I hope that many of those that have enjoyed my music for free, will also consider buying a copy.
I have also added a fun Rag-time type song, which I have entitled, The Entertaining Cakewalk. When I was young, my Kindergarten teacher had us all listening (during our nap time!) to Debussy’s “Claire De Lune” (a personal favorite) and also his “Golliwog’s Cakewalk”. It was the Cakewalk, that I enjoyed most at that time. As I was learning the piano, my all time favorite song to play was Scott Joplin’s “The Entertainer”. As much as I enjoy “soothing” inspirational music, I am still entranced by the other “moods” of music as well. I thought it would be fun to compose a piece (like my favorites) that would be fun to play in those “fun” moods. I really like this piece, and have had fun playing it. I hope it might inspire a young student to give “fun” music a try.
Finally, my music has been added to the Whisperings piano solo radio Internet station. This is a beautiful ad-free radio station that plays many New Age type piano songs, and now includes mine too! You can listen at: http://www.solopianoradio.com/
Hope everyone is enjoying the music, thanks for all your support, if nothing else, you’ll have to atleast come see my new website design. I’ve tried to organize my songs so it’s easier to find what you’re looking for. I’ve also added a new blog (an on-line journal type thing)and a new About the Composer page, for anyone who would like to get to know me better! Hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,
Lindy Kerby
