Last Saturday, after I had returned from a most uplifting and inspiring Relief Society meeting (view broadcast here), I had to stop at my neighborhood Walmart to pick up a few last minute groceries before Sunday. As I came back out to my car, I noticed to my surprise, that there was a colorful bouquet of flowers with an envelope just sitting on the front windshield of my car.
I cautiously looked at the beautiful flowers and opened up the envelope. Inside was a colorful, smiley card with the note, “I hope these flowers make you smile- Just Because.”
I didn’t know who had put them there, and because it was dark, I couldn’t even really tell who might have been sitting in their car just waiting for my expression. I couldn’t help it, it made me smile. How could it not? For no reason at all, someone had gone out of their way to make someone else smile- and they had picked me. I actually felt a little less than worthy. Surely there was someone else that needed that smile more than me, but it didn’t something for me. It made me want to share more with others too- Just Because. Because I have something to give. I would love to make somebody smile.
To whoever sent me those sweet flowers- Thank you. It meant more to me than you know. You’ve inspired me. I hope the music I write inspires others. I’m trying to do it for the same reason – Just Because.
