I wrote this song to go with the LDS Mutual Theme in 2017. However, I didn’t realize how much it was going to help me through my own difficult journey.
Just the previous year I had been divorced, I was dealing with some broken relationships with some of my children, and going through some of the hardest challenges and experienced I’d ever had. The process of writing this song helped to anchor me and focus on the Peace that I was feeling even through all of those challenges.

It’s a world of trial and anguish
that we’re living in
And it’s easy to forget
why we are here
But the scriptures help
remind us what the purpose is
And as we study them,
the words become more clear
As we learn about the Savior
He walks by our side
As we listen to His words,
we feel Him there
As we walk with Him
the spirit truly testifies
of His love for us
and just how much He cares
We feel His Peace,

The peace of knowing who we are
And that we’re on the Savior’s side

In a world that’s filled with darkness,

As we follow His commandments and believe
As we make the choice
to trust in Him we realize
