Last night we arrived at the Cedarbrook RV Campground in Illinois. The couple running the place were very kind to us. The kids and I enjoyed swimming in the pool until it got dark, while my husband took a nice nap in the tent. We met a couple people near the pool that were quite surprised with the size of our family. It’s always fun to see some of the looks we get when we stop for gas, or a rest stop along the way.
There wasn’t any historical sites to see on this leg of our trip, so we stopped in Indianapolis, Indiana at a park,
and then a few hours later at a rest stop.
The kids were pretty good travelers today. After our family scripture time, they worked on a “sanity packet” the older kids had made up, and then watched a bunch of Phineas and Ferb episodes, in addition to the 3 red box DVD’s we picked up in Missouri. How cool is it to rent something along the way and drop it off over 500 miles away!
We arrived at the KOA in Illinois, we picked a spot that was pretty close to the rest rooms, the laundry room, and the swimming pool. This time my husband took the kids swimming, and my oldest and I tried to enjoy a quick respite before it was time to get dinner back on the stove.
With going swimming a couple times, there was plenty of laundry to do, and I spent my $10 in quarters all in one swoop to wash and dry all we had to do. I’m getting just a bit tired of traveling, and looking forward to tomorrow…
