I’m sure you are all surprised to hear from me again on even the same day, but I thought I’d share what I did this morning in my “feeling good” mode.
This morning I got an email from someone who had picked “As One Sister” to perform for their Visiting Teaching Conference in the next 2 days. The sister asked to sing, was having a difficult time with the rhythm, and this sister wondered if I had a recording they could listen to, in order to help her learn the song.
I didn’t have any recording of the song, but I appreciate requests like this, because they give me a reason to make one. In this particular case, I even had the accompaniment track done, since I’d sung it for our ward a few months back. Unfortunately, I had never recorded the vocal, and being as I’ve been sick all week, I didn’t think I would be able to record one today.
I started to write an email to this lady to apologize that I couldn’t help her, when I had the thought that even though I might not be able to make a perfect recording to put on the website, I could atleast record a rough demo, even with a terrible voice so that this sister would be able to have some help learning the song.
I decided to try. I said a prayer that Heavenly Father would help me, and even help me to make it sound in a way that I was comfortable with. Of course I’m only writing this, because the miracle happened. I was able to make a recording to send this sister, and though it’s far from perfect, I feel good enough about it to let others listen to it as well, that it might help others to learn the song.
I’m so grateful for everyday miracles in my life!
You are welcome to download the song here.
