Life is just a little bit crazy. Maybe it’s just the time of year? I’m not sure. There’s only a couple more weeks until school gets out, and then summer starts. I’m looking forward to a lot of things this summer, especially our trip, but getting ready for it- IS a little crazy. Thankfully, miracles keep happening that help me to know that this is a good decision, and that it really WILL be a good trip.
On Sunday, I got an email from my friend Nawroz, if you don’t know about how I met Nawroz, check out this post. Anyway, I haven’t heard from him for a few months, and I’ve been thinking and wondering how he was doing… well, he wrote and told me about how he has been staying in Canada, and is finally for the first time, expecting their first child!!!! I am so thrilled for them. This was Nawroz wife’s dream, and finally they are in a place of refuge where they can relax and have that opportunity. I was so happy to hear about that. Then, I started wondering how close we might be to traveling near them on our trip. It turns out that we will GET TO VISIT THEM, when we visit Niagara Falls!!! I am so excited, and amazed that I could have such an experience. It seems totally surreal. I am so very thrilled and happy, and amazed with how God’s fingerprints have been throughout this whole experience!
I continue to look for a van for our family. That’s our next biggest quest in preparing for our vacation. After looking at a bunch of 12 and 15 passenger vans, I think we’ve decided to get a 12 passenger van, and rent or buy an inexpensive cargo trailer to haul behind us. There’s so much we’d like to bring along on the trip, and I hate feeling limited by space. Has anyone brought one of those enclosed trailers along on a trip? I’d love to hear your experiences. I’ve been trying to get any ideas I can about tips and tricks for vacationing with kids. Someone suggested bringing along a crock pot for cooking– and I’m seriously loving the idea. I’m wondering if it’s even possible on the long driving days to have something “stewing” while we are driving, so that when we get to camp- we could just eat! Is that dangerous? I don’t know. I’d love your ideas and comments!
