Easter Sunday, I got to lead the Choir singing, “I Know That My Redeemer Lives”. It was beautiful. I was grateful to make it through the whole arrangement without crying. On the last verse, I could tell I was shaking a bit as I led the Congregation with the choir singing a stirring descant at the same time. What a wonderful place to be– in the middle of everyone singing! I feel it is such a privilege to lead our choir. I sat down after we sang, and the flood gates opened. I’ve always felt the spirit so strong when I listen to beautiful music.
This week I’ve been working on several projects. I’ve started working on the Christmas Cantata. I’ve almost got one song finished, and several others in the planning stages. I’ve also been planning a family camping/road trip for this summer. We’ll be trying to visit all the church history sites from New York to Utah. It’s going to be huge. Just imagine our family (7 kids, the youngest age 2)- traveling that long in the car every day. I’ve already been told we’re crazy, and I’m not pretending we’re not, but I’m hoping it will be a great bonding adventure. It will be the last year we can go on a trip like this. My oldest will be 17.
Has anyone else ever done a long trip like that with kids? I really would love to hear any ideas you have. Things to do in the car, suggestions, campsite ideas, places we shouldn’t miss, etc. Of course encouragement is also welcome….
