I was released from my calling as the Young Women Music leader. This leaves me to focus on my other two callings, helping with our Pursuit of Excellence program for Relief Society, and leading the Ward Choir. I was sad to leave the Young Women, but I’ve been grateful that so many have chosen to sing with our Ward Choir.
Last Sunday I got to be involved one last time as the youth sang for a musical number, one of my arrangements of “As Zion’s Youth in Latter Days”. It was fun to hear them sing. They did such a great job.
Our Ward Choir is also performing one of my arrangements, “I Stand All Amazed”. I’ve really enjoyed hearing some of my songs performed again. We were attempting to also sing a song composed by another talented member of our ward choir, a song called, “Hosanna”. Unfortunately, his song, though beautiful, has been a little out of our league. After working on it for several weeks, I had to tell him that we would be unable to perform his song for our upcoming Easter program. It was heart breaking to tell him. I knew how disappointed he would be. Thankfully, he seemed to understand and took it well. I’m hoping the rest of the choir will forgive me for picking music that was a little too challenging for our small choir.
This weekend I have a lot going on. We have Stake Conference (which our choir also gets to be part of), and a wedding and reception (my brother in law). It’s been busy. I’m also trying to make some edits to my musical so that I can submit it to the church’s script submission contest (Did you know they even had one of those!?) Anyway, life continues on. My miscarriage has taken almost a month to finish. Thankfully it hasn’t been painful, just long. I’m so ready to move on. I’m just not sure what I’m moving on to.
Blog again soon,
